According to the research of independent laboratories, the human subconscious mind can “see” events before they happen for about 10 seconds. It means that it can predict our future.

3 things we need to know about our subconscious mind

There is something that science doesn’t fully explain, and the subconscious is one of those topics. So, before answering the question of whether the subconscious can predict the future or not, we need to have a clear understanding of the subconscious mind.

Firstly, the subconscious exists in the human brain. According to scientists, the brain is divided into 3 parts: consciousness, subconsciousness, and unconsciousness. The subconscious is a sinking part of the iceberg. Thus, not everyone knows about its existence and feels easy to access. However, we can still reprogram our subconscious by using several useful methods such as meditation, hypnosis, etc.

Secondly, the subconscious contains the memories, information, experiences, and emotions that we have accumulated since birth. They form us in response to everything around us. These reactions can happen unconsciously. For example, we feel nervous before the exam.

Thirdly, the subconscious mind can do everything you may not expect, even predict the future. There is a lot of evidence to support this magical ability of the subconscious mind. Let’s see!

The subconscious mind can predict the future

A meta-analysis from more than 20 experiments conducted by 7 independent laboratories showed that the human subconscious can predict the future. In October 2012, the famous psychologist Mrs. Julia published the document “Predict physiological factors before unpredictable stimuli” to prove that the predictive ability of the subconscious is real.

Accordingly, the human subconscious can somehow “see” events before they happen for about 1 to 10 seconds. Before we become conscious of an event, the body responds to it, manifested by changes in the heart, skin, and nervous system.

In the above independent experiments, participants could see random images that touched or neutralized the viewer (no impact). The results showed that: Before the image showed up, their bodies appeared emotional expressions afterward. The strongest reaction occurs after viewing the photo, but the slightest reaction occurred a few seconds earlier. This shows the subconscious’s ability to predict the stimulus in the future.

Another interesting experiment about the predictive ability of the subconscious is the research about a stick. The researchers used the image of a stick of firewood in the middle of a river with water surrounding it. The effect of the stick represents an event that occurs in the future – disturbing the water flow. This process looks like an emotional event or an important event in the future. The flow of the river can be seen as the flow of time when your subconscious mind feels it.

Example of predictive ability of our subconscious

In fact, there are a lot of people who find the event that happened before their eyes very familiar but have no memory of it. This is called the Dejavu phenomenon. It is an illusion that you can feel familiar in a new environment or setting but never known before or not remember when.

These can be experiences of a sure feeling of having witnessed or lived through a situation before. This is one of the typical examples of the subconscious’s ability to predict the future based on past experiences.
